Microneedling works by prompting your body’s innate healing ability. The SkinPen is a handheld device with a head covered in tiny sterile treatment needles. As your practitioner moves the device over the surface of your skin, those needles create tiny channels into the deeper layers of your skin.
Your body perceives each of those channels as a micro injury and launches an immediate healing response. New blood vessels are created to improve circulation in the area, inflammation is reduced, and new collagen and elastin cells are formed.
