What are neuromodulators?

Neuromodulators are chemical messengers that alter the transmission of signals from one neuron to another. As applied in medical aesthetics, neuromodulators are a type of injectable treatment that works by altering the way your muscle tissue functions.

Botox and Dysport are popular neuromodulator treatments. Both work by using a carefully controlled volume of a neurotoxin called Clostridium botulinum to prevent treated facial muscles from going through their full range of motion.

These injectables can be administered to reduce the appearance of forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines. The effects are temporary, but also incredibly natural-looking.

How can I avoid an overly tight, “done” look with Botox and Dysport?

You’ve probably seen photos of celebrities and other people who’ve gone a bit too far with injectables. In the hands of an unskilled practitioner, a “more is better” approach can lead to poor outcomes.

At Afzal Clinics, you’ll always be treated by board-certified doctors and physician assistants. Practitioners have gone through extensive training in anatomy and understand how to place neuromodulator injections to achieve the best possible results.

Botox and Dysport prevent the muscle actions that tug and pull your skin into lines, wrinkles, and folds. But your facial muscles will still be able to create normal facial expressions, and your face will never have an overly tight look.

How long do the effects of Botox and Dysport last?

It only takes a few moments to have your neuromodulator injections performed. There is no significant discomfort during the injections, and there’s no need for any form of advance preparation or recovery time.

You’ll have to wait 24-48 hours for the full effects to develop. You can expect your results to last around four months. At that point, you’ll begin to see your lines and folds gradually returning, and you can decide if you’d like to move forward with another round of treatment.

Many people are so pleased with their results that they make Botox and Dysport part of their ongoing beauty and wellness routines.

The team members at Afzal Clinics are trained by some of the best providers in the nation and are experts in Botox treatment.

If you’d like to see how these treatments can help you look younger and more well-rested, call the office to schedule a visit, or book online in just a few moments.
